Meet Nicole Gianotto, VSA-CDT
Certified Professional Dog Trainer & Canine Behavior Consultant
Founder, Fancy Pawz Pet Sitting, LLC & K9 Learning Solutions, LLC
Originally from North Carolina, Nicole Gianotto relocated to New Jersey over 16 years ago, where she built a successful career in transportation safety consulting before choosing to follow her lifelong passion—working with animals.
Nicole’s love for animals and professional pet care experience began as a veterinary receptionist and technician, where she gained hands-on knowledge of animal health, behavior, and client education. During this time, she rescued her pit bull, Storm, and a black cat, Binx. Over the past two decades, she has volunteered, fostered, and supported rescue organizations across several states, helping countless animals find balance, trust, and loving homes.
In 2022, Nicole founded Fancy Pawz Pet Sitting, LLC, combining years of hands-on experience with dogs, cats, and small animals with her deep commitment to compassionate, individualized care. Shortly after founding Fancy Pawz Pet Sitting—and drawing on her extensive experience working with rescue dogs—Nicole recognized a significant gap in the largely unregulated dog training industry: a need for qualified professionals who understand that aversive-based methods do not have a place in ethical, effective dog training. This realization led her to expand her work into professional training and behavior consulting through K9 Learning Solutions, LLC, ensuring families and rescue partners had access to humane, science-based guidance they could trust.
Nicole is based in Columbus, New Jersey, where she lives with her husband, a retired police officer, their rescued dogs, and two beloved lovebirds. She proudly serves families throughout New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania and New York.
Nicole’s work is deeply influenced by her own family life and the everyday realities of living with dogs. She understands firsthand the challenges families face when balancing work, home, and the emotional and behavioral needs of their pets. This perspective allows her to design realistic, effective training and behavior plans that fit seamlessly into family routines and support long-term success.
A graduate of the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior, Nicole is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (VSA-CDT)and a proud member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers International and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Her training philosophy focuses on the whole dog—mind, body, and emotional well-being—using only positive reinforcement, fear-free, science-based methods.
